Holiday Gift Guide for School-Aged Kids
Gift ideas for your favorite 6, 7 and 8 year olds
As our son gets older, he is becoming much more particular in what he wants for the holidays. In this gift guide for school-aged kids in early elementary school, you’ll find some of our favorite toys for little ones ages 6 to 8 years old. These are toys and games our son loves and has on his wish list this year.
School-Aged Kids Gifts
Stomp Rocket
Stomp Rocket
This simple gift is simply a lot of fun. It really can be used by most ages, but by age 5-6, they have the weight and strength to launch the rocket to a decent height. And you can purchase additional rockets if all of yours land on the roof.
This puzzle is great for kindergarteners because it’s a bit more challenging than your average puzzle. It’s basically like Tetris, but a puzzle. You can also use the pieces to make pictures too.
My puzzle-loving kiddo was definitely up for the challenge of this 300 piece jigsaw puzzle. Although he’s not quite ready to knock this one out on his own, the two of us had a good time putting together this puzzle while baby sis took her afternoon nap.
My son has loved Godzilla for years – and it’s so fun to see new Godzilla-themed toys on the market. Of course, we scooped this one up as soon as we saw it!
One things I noticed when my son moved up to big kid LEGOs is that the sets are made up of mostly specialized pieces – there aren’t a ton of rectangular blocks you can use to create other things. He has a few sets, like this neon one, on his wish list so he can create new things with his LEGO blocks.
My oldest loves to build, and what better way to incorporate his love of building and Hot Wheels with this Track set. I can’t wait to see the tracks he puts together!
I picked this Outer Space Paint by Stickers book up for Bennett during my trip to Portland. He and I have had so much fun doing this together! It’s a bit more challenging than the other paint by sticker books he’s had, which makes it much more interesting!
Where’s Waldo? keeps my oldest occupied before he falls asleep at night, waiting for a doctor’s appointment, and during long road trips. It’s a great way to keep your kid occupied without a screen. And it’s also fun to do with them!
My son is recently interested in doing crossword puzzles with me. I was excited to find this book for kids. I like that it comes with a word bank to help him spell the words within the puzzles.
One of my favorite things about this age is that my son loves board games. Here are our favorites for family game night for 6 to 8 year olds..
Hasbro Gaming Candy Land Board Game
Candy Land Board Game
My son’s favorite board game has to be Candy Land. It’s very easy to play with two of you or the whole family. And it’s still as fun as you remember from our childhood.
Another board game we love to play as a family is Ticket to Ride First Journey. It’s much more complicated than Candy Land, but it’s not too hard for a 6 year old. We brought this game on our summer vacation and spent hours playing it together.
I love doing things with my kids that I enjoyed as a child. And I remember spending hours playing UNO with my family when I was little. We picked up this Jurassic World themed UNO game for our son, and he loves it as much as we do.
I love these “Eye Found It!” cooperative board games – maybe more than my kiddo. In a cooperative board game, you work together to win. The “Eye Found It!” games have an element where you search for different pictures hidden throughout the game board. It’s basically an eye spy picture meets board game.
Peaceable Kingdom Dinosaur Escape Cooperative Game
Cooperative board games are great at this age because it teaches teamwork in a fun way. We love this Dinosaur Escape game. We picked this game up last Black Friday and still play it regularly.
This kids microscope and lab kit has been a lot of fun for our little scientist. It is easy to use, and I like that it comes with a kit to help kids learn how to use the microscope.
What I like about building sets is that they came in all sizes and price points. A big set like this MEGA Pokémon “Forest Pokémon Center” Building Set is one of the big gifts on my son’s wish list.
We got our son the Amazon Fire HD 8 for his 6th birthday, and it’s held up well for over 2 years now. We held off on getting him a tablet for a long time, but I don’t have any regrets about purchasing this one. Here’s the latest model.
Thank you for checking out my gift guide for school-aged kids from 6 to 8 years old. I hope you are able to find the perfect gift for your six, seven, or eight year old in this list of toys my son has loves so much.

Holiday Gift Guide for Preschoolers
Gift ideas for your favorite 4 and 5 year olds
As a preschooler, my son loves many of the same types of toys as he did as a toddler, including building toys, puzzles, and play pretend toys. But these toys are a bit more advanced and have more pieces – and are honestly a bit more fun to play with. The toys on this list are best for ages 4 to 5 years old. Everything on this gift guide for preschoolers are toys that we own or are similar to things we loved when our son was 4 and 5 years old.
Preschooler Gifts
Lincoln Logs
Lincoln Logs
Some toys are a classic for a reason – and Lincoln Logs is one of the greats. This set gets as much use in our house as the Legos and MagnaTiles. If your child loves building toys, Lincoln Logs is a must have!
We asked for this fort building kit after spending a rainy spring building blanket forts with our son our of blankets and pool noodles. This is definitely a toy to play with together – it’s a bit too complex for a 4 year old to build all on their own – but it is fun for everyone!
My son really started getting into matching games as a preschooler – and to be honest, he’s MUCH better at it than I am! I am thinking about snagging this Disney Princess Matching Game for little sis so she can join in too.
Another favorite game in our house is the classic Hungry Hungry Hippos game. It’s easy to play with a 4 or 5 year old, and is lots of fun for parents too!
My son has recently fallen in love with mini golf – and he’s basically turned our living room into a putt putt course! This kids golf set is great to use indoors or out. The age range listed for this toy is 2-10, but I think it’s most appropriate for ages 4 to 5.
Another classic childhood toy that has been a hit in our household is the Etch A Sketch. My son had a blast making pictures, and only needs help erasing his drawings.
One milestone I didn’t see coming was the transition from LEGO Duplos to regular, big kid LEGO sets. This donut truck set is so much fun to build and play with together.
If there’s one thing four and 5 year olds love, it’s being nosy. Indulge their inner neighbor… err… bird watcher with this set of binoculars. Ours gets banged around a lot, and they’ve held up nicely.
My son received a few Paint by Stickers books for his 5th birthday, and we BOTH have enjoyed doing them together. This Christmas edition of Paint by Stickers Kids is the perfect gift to put under your tree.
Educational Insights Design & Drill Activity Center
Educational Insights Design & Drill Activity Center
This design and drill toy is perfect for any tool-loving kiddo. My son can spend an afternoon creating different pictures with the colored screws and drill. It’s a lot of fun!
One thing we love to do in our house is to build a stage with the fort builder toy above and put on a puppet show. I added this set of hand puppets to my son’s wish list because he loves animals and they were well-rated.
Santa brought this digital camera when Ben was 4, and he absolutely loves it! He takes it with us on our adventures, and creates his own movies at home with his Godzilla toys. If your preschooler loves using your phone to take photos and videos, do yourself a favor and add this kids digital camera to cart.
If you don’t have the space or budget for one of those in-demand, large buildable couches, check out this one from Foamnasium. We purchased the Blocksy Mini for my son’s 4th birthday, and he still has a lot of fun with it – without taking up half his room.
If your kiddo loves magnetic tiles and marble runs, this toy has the best of both worlds! It also has a race car track. You’ll get years of fun out of this toy.
Marble run toys are great for this age. If you’re looking for a bigger gift, consider this one from Hape. It is more complex to setup than the plastic version – this gift is best for ages 4 and up. It’s unique, has cool add-on pieces, and is fun for the whole family.
My oldest loves doing science experiments, and really liked the kids chemistry set we got him a few years ago. This chemistry set has 50 experiments for kids ages 4-6 years old.
Balance bikes are a great gift for older toddlers / young preschoolers. We bought this balance when my son was 3, but he wasn’t very interested in riding it until closer to 3.5 years old. If your child isn’t quite ready for a full-sized bike, you may want to check out a balance bike instead.
Thank you for checking out my gift guide for preschoolers. I hope you are able to find the perfect gift for your four or five year old in this list of toys my son has loves so much.

Holiday Gift Guide for Toddlers
Our favorite toys for 2 & 3 year olds
Toddlers are the perfect combination of fun and crazy. At this age, my son really loved puzzles, building toys, play pretend toys, and toys that helped him get out all that energy – and my daughter is the same way! In this holiday gift guide for toddlers, you’ll find our favorite toys for two and three year olds. And most of these toys are still played with today. I’m sure you’ll find something on this list that your toddler will love for many years to come.
Toddler Gifts
Melissa & Doug Wooden Peg Puzzle 6 Pack
Melissa & Doug Disney Wooden Peg Puzzle Set
I love these peg puzzles from Melissa & Doug. They are the perfect beginner puzzles for 2 year olds.
Most toddlers love Magna-Tiles and Sesame Street. Put them together and you’ve got this Elmo set from CreateOn. We purchased this set when my son was 2, and both of my kids now love playing with it.
Play food has always been a hit in our house. This set from Melissa & Doug is nice because it’s durable and made from wood. It’s now my daughter’s toy, and is holding up pretty well!
If you’ve got play food, your toddler will probably ask to play pretend grocery store. And then you’ll need a toy cash register. This one is nice because it also comes with a set of play food, pretend money and working microphone.
And since you can’t play pretend grocery store without a shopping cart, you’ll to get a toy shopping cart. This classic shopping cart from Little Tikes is nice because the plastic doesn’t ding furniture and it fits nicely into a corner of a room.
Another cute shopping cart toy is this Cozy Shopping Cart from Little Tikes. My daughter loves putting her doll or stuffies in the Cozy Coupe part, and all of our refrigerator magnets in the cart part. Fun for hours!
Some toys are a classic for a reason. What I love about the Playskool Sit ‘n Spin is that it gives my son the thrill of spinning in circles without the chaos of constantly crashing into furniture.
I love that this book teaches about all of the holidays celebrated this season. It’s great for ages 3 and up – plus what toddler doesn’t love Sesame Street?
My daughter loves to help in the kitchen, so for her second birthday, I got her this kids knife set to help make lunch or cut up vegetables for dinner.
It might seem odd to gift an outdoor toy during Christmas in the Midwest, but hear me out. Saving something special for warmer weather gives your kiddo something to look forward to – and you’ll be a head of the curve purchasing a water table before everyone else does come spring time. We’ve had this water table for over 4 years, and it’s still in great shape and gets tons of use!
My son loves this ride on push car so much that he still asks to sit in it for family walks, even though he barely fits anymore. This is one toy you will get a lot of use out of.
I was hesitant to dedicate space in our house to a mini trampoline that would be out all the time, but I’m glad I did. It was an easy way to help my son burn off some extra energy, and now it’s back out for my daughter now that she is 2!
If your child loves toy trains, BRIO sets are worth the investment. There are a ton of different, imaginative sets that all connect with ease. This high-quality toy will last for years, even with repeated abuse from little ones. This BRIO First Railway Train Set is a great first set to gift your little train enthusiast.
We are updating the toddler busy board my husband made for our daughter this year. For a less DIY version, check out this Montessori Busy Board for toddlers.
We purchased our bounce house as our big pandemic quarantine purchase. While the original bounce house that we purchased is no longer available, this bounce house from Little Tikes is super popular, and one of the top rated ones on Amazon.
All your toddler needs is a simple playhouse to let their imagination run wild. My mother-in-law got my daughter this playhouse for her second birthday, and she has a blast playing in it! There are also lots of tutorials online on how to customize this playhouse, if you’re into that!
My mom bought this mud kitchen for Savannah’s second birthday – and both kids enjoy playing with it! Our mud kitchen has gotten a lot of use, no matter the season!
Thank you for checking out my holiday gift guide for toddlers. I hope you are able to find the perfect gift for your two or three year old in this list of toys my kids have loved so much.

Holiday Gift Guide for 1 Year Olds
Gift ideas for your favorite 12 to 24 month olds
One year olds can be hard to shop for – especially if you’re a first time mom and you’re not sure what they would like or be appropriate for their age. In this gift guide for 1 year olds, you’ll find some of our favorite toys for little ones ages 12 to 24 months that our children loved for many years. You’re sure to find something perfect for your little one this Christmas!
1 Year Old Gifts
Fisher-Price Little People Christmas Train
Fisher-Price Little People Christmas Train
My mother-in-law bought our daughter this Little People Christmas Train from Fisher-Price, and both of our kids have fun playing with this toy. It’s the perfect, festive toy for a 1 year old – and expect for them to play with this train all year round.
Melissa & Doug Poke-a-Dot Book:The Night Before Christmas
Melissa & Doug Poke-a-Dot Book:The Night Before Christmas
My daughter loves the Poke-a-Dot books from Melissa & Doug. It’s the one thing I can always count on to keep her occupied while we wait in the school pick-up line. This “Night Before Christmas” book would make a great gift for any little one.
This “on the go letters” learning case is a great way to help kids learn their letters and colors. I love that this case is easily portable – perfect for when you’re on the go visiting family during the holidays.
Another great toy for little builders are the MEGA BLOKS Toddler Blocks. They come in all different shapes and colors. My daughter really likes this set that she received for her first birthday.
This toy consists of 6 different cogs that can be stacked on a screw-like stand. What I’m saying is – you put the cog on the stand and it goes around and around until it reaches the bottom. And it’s really fun and engaging for both little kids and adults.
Another toy that is much-loved in my house is this set of pull-back vehicles from Melissa & Doug. They’re soft, fun, and durable. We’ve had our set for 6 years, and they’re still in great shape.
This classic toy is a must-have for all kids – and it’s not very expensive! I like how this set is a big of an upgrade from our old set – the star shape is really fun! I also like how Green Toys are made from 100% recycled plastic milk jugs.
My daughter received this toy purse for her first birthday, and she absolutely loves it! It sings super cute songs and is the perfect size for a one year old to carry around.
This workbench is part toy, part shape sorter. It plays music and makes real workshop sounds. It’s also small and easy to move around the house. This was one of my son’s favorite toys as a 1 year old!
This magnetic drawing board has been great for my little one. It’s easy to use, durable, and I like how the pen is attached to the board so it can’t be lost.
This play kitchen sink toy is another hit in our house. It comes with color-changing dishes, a big variety of play food, and a working facet! We use ours a lot without the water too.
This simple dump truck toy is a lot of fun for our kids. They often use it to transport other little toys from room to room. And it also comes in pink and purple.
Around age 1, my kids were not so gentle with books. I’ve spent a lot of time taping pages back together. I was so excited to find the Indestructibles books. They have tons of different stories to choose from, and they are definitely indestructible.
This Fisher-Price Ultimate Playhouse is the upgrade from the FP smart home my kids love. This toy has a ton of different interactive features that can be customized by level and language. It’s also built to easily sit in a corner of a room, taking up way less space than a traditional playhouse.
The classic Cozy Coupe from Little Tikes makes a great gift for any one year old. My daughter received this Fairy Cozy Coupe for her first birthday and absolutely loves it. It’s cute and whimsical, and something she plays with daily.
If you’re in the market for a Cozy Coupe and dinos are more your jam, do not sleep on this adorable T-Rex Dinosaur Cozy Coupe from Little Tikes. If this was around when my dino-crazy son was little, we absolutely would have snagged one!
Play kitchens are a wonderful big gift for one year olds, but if you’re looking for something a bit different, check out this Little Tikes Backyard Barbeque Get Out ‘N Grill toy. It takes up less space than most toy kitchens, and you can move it to the backyard come springtime.
I love that this toy gives your child the ability to explore 3 different sports in one set. The 3-in-1 Sports Zone has basketball, soccer and bowling features in an easy-to-use setup. And it also folds together for easy storage. We got ours 6 years ago and keep it in the garage, and it’s still going strong.
Our kids both loved their Little Tikes First Slide. But what I love about this one is that it’s foldable for easy storage. Our plan is to keep one inside this winter for the days where you just can’t leave the house.
During quarantine, I struggled with ways to help my high-energy kiddo blow off steam while stuck home indoors. This ball pit and tunnel set is perfect for us. It allows us to setup several different configurations and the whole thing folds down to the size of a large pizza.
For a smaller, but also storage-conscious, option, check out this foldable ball pit. We got one for our daughter last year. It’s big enough for both kids to play in, but takes up very little space when stored.
This last gift is an accessory to the pop-up set above – but honestly, ball pit balls can be used in more than just a ball pit that it’s well worth the investment. This set has held up well for us – they’re durable and easy to clean, too!
Thank you for checking out my gift guide for 1 year olds. I hope you are able to find the perfect gift for your little one in this list of toys my children love so much.

Holiday Gift Guide for Babies
Gift ideas for your favorite 0 to 12 month olds
Looking for the perfect gift for baby’s first Christmas or Hanukkah? In this holiday gift guide for babies, you’ll find some of our favorite gifts for littles under 12 months old. I’ve included both toys and practical gifts too. Many of these items are things we loved with both of our kids as infants.
You’re sure to find something perfect for your baby’s first Christmas or Hanukkah!
Gifts for Babies 0-12 Months
Skip Hop Follow-Me Bee Crawl Toy
Skip Hop Follow-Me Bee Crawl Toy
One toy that came highly recommended to me from other moms with babies is the Skip Hop Follow-Me Bee Crawl Toy. This is such a fun toy for babies who are learning to crawl.
My son loved his Flappy the Elephant, but ours is a bit past its prime. So I was thrilled to see that GUND makes other singing animals too. I thought Flora the Bunny was just adorable – and my daughter loved receiving it for her first Christmas.
Bead maze and abacus toys are great for little hands to learn fine motor skills. But also, this will look really cute in the nursery until your little one ready to play with it.
I know this looks silly – a pretend tissue box, but it’s one of our most played with baby toys. Our daughter loves this tissue box toy. She will spend hours happily pulling out the fabric tissues over and over again. If you buy one toy for your baby this year, get this.
Tummy Time water play toys are also a popular gift for babies. I really like this Tummy Time Water Play Mat from The Peanutshell because it’s cute and fun, and a bit different from the typical under-the-sea theme you see for these toys.
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Baby Pretend Tv Remote Control
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Baby Pretend Tv Remote Control
Both of my kids loved being in charge of the remote from the time they were teeny tiny. Fortunately for us, our youngest would usually settle for this toy TV remote from Fisher-Price. Most of the time at least!
The Bella Tunno Wonder Bibs are our favorite bibs for meal time. We got several years worth of use out of the bib we had for Ben, and now we use one at every meal for Savannah – it’s still in great shape after 2 years! Plus they are the cutest phrases on the bibs!
Our daughter was 4 months old at her first Christmas, and had just begun teething. I made sure to including the Itzy Ritzy Silicone Teething Mitt under the tree for her that year.
The only way to make Taco Tuesday more fun with a teething baby is obviously this adorable teether. In addition to being super cute, it’s also super durable.
Speaking of teething – and drooling – I also added some of my favorite Bandana bibs to Savannah’s first wish list. Copper Pearl Baby Bandana Drool Bibs come in a huge variety of prints and are incredibly durable and absorbent.
The best stuffed animals are from Jellycat. They are incredibly soft and cuddly – and also extremely durable. Both of my kids’ lovies are from Jellycat.
Activity gyms are a great toy for babies since they can be used for newborns and up. I like how this Ingenuity Activity Gym & Play Mat folds flat and is easily portable. Plus, it’s super cute!
If your baby does not enjoy their activity mat & play gym, chances are they’d like this version. The Fisher-Price Deluxe Kick & Play Piano Gym is super popular – especially when babies reach the stage when they love to kick. My daughter LOVED her kick & play piano!
I used our floor seat all the time after Savannah outgrew her bouncer. It’s easily portable, and was super convenient put her in when I’m folding laundry or washing dishes. I like how the Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat has attachments for toys, but also folds flat for storage.
We got a ton of use out of our activity center when both our kids were babies. This Skip Hop Baby Activity Center is one of the most popular. It is designed to grow with your child through 3 different stages, so it’s well worth the investment.
Listen, I know this toy probably doesn’t match your aesthetic and you may also find the music it plays annoying – but your baby will love it. Even if they aren’t walking yet, they can still play with the interactive toys on the front. And it has staying power. We have this one as a hand-me-down from our nieces, and it still works, 6 years and oodles of kids later.
One of our most-loved piece of baby gear has to be our doorway jumper. Both of our kids LOVED our doorway jumper – and would have jumped for hours if we let them. It’s easy to store and easy to clean – the seat easily comes off and is machine washable for when your baby projectile vomits in the middle of jumping.
Thank you for checking out my gift guide for babies 0-12 months old. I hope you are able to find the perfect gift for your sweet baby’s first Christmas or Hanukkah in this list of toys and gear we have loved so much.

Hanukkah Gift Guide for Kids
Hanukkah-themed gifts for your little ones
Every year during Hanukkah, we love to include a Jewish or holiday-themed gift for one of the eight nights. My Hanukkah gift guide for kids includes our favorites from the Mensch on the Bench collection, awesome Hanukkah Magna-Tiles, a play pretend Hanukkah set, our most-read Hanukkah books, and more. These gifts are perfect for children ages 0-7.
Hanukkah Toys
The Mensch on a Bench with Hardcover Book and Removable Bench
The Mensch on a Bench
The Jewish answer to the Elf on the Shelf, sort of. This toy comes with a great message entwined with the story of Hanukkah – and comes with a line of friends that build upon the themes of the holiday. Oh, and did I mention this toy line was created by a Cincinnati local?
Friend to the Mensch on a Bench, Mitzvah Moose tells a story about the importance of mitzvahs, or good deeds. The candles on his antlers light up, just as they do in the story.
A newer member of the Mensch on a Bench tribe is the Zebra from Zion. This furry friend with a distinct zebra print comes with a story about living a Jewish life outside of a Jewish community.
CreateOn puts out some amazing collections using Magna-Tile brand tiles, and their Hanukkah set is no exception. It’s really cool to see a Hanukkah set included in their holiday collection.
This wooden menorah set from The Dreidel Company is colorful and fun for little kids of all ages. This toy is the perfect gift for a day of play pretend – or eight!
Ella and Noah Celebrate Hanukkah: Sticker Activity Book
Ella and Noah Celebrate Hanukkah: Sticker Activity Book
This sticker activity book is for kids preschool age to 10 has Hanukkah activities galore. I like how this activity book follows two siblings to teach kids about the story and holiday of Hanukkah.
This Hanukkah suncatcher craft set includes two suncatchers to paint, two suction cups and paint. It’s a fun, easy craft to do with your kids, and it will be fun to hang up year after year.
This set of Hanukkah stamps is great fun for kids of all ages, and can be used in a variety of craft projects too. We’ve had this set for 2 years and they still work great!
You can pick up some of our favorite Hanukkah books at your local bookstore or through the affiliate links below. We have been reading many of these books to our son since he was a baby, and we still enjoy reading them together as a family now that our daughter is here too.
I hope this Hanukkah gift guide helps you find the perfect present gift for your little ones. Happy Hanukkah, friends!

Stocking Stuffers for Little Kids
Gift ideas for stocking stuffers for little kids ages 0 to 8
Stocking stuffers for little kids don’t have to be extravagant or expensive. In my kids’ stockings, I like to include items like bath toys, travel toys, figurines, and every day items that are a little more special.
In this stocking stuffer gift guide, you’ll find stocking stuffer ideas that are perfect for little kids ages 0 to 8 that they’re sure to love.
Stocking Stuffer Gifts
Boon Pipes Building Bath Tub Toy (Pack of 5)
Boon Pipes Building Bath Tub Toy
Bath toys are a great, inexpensive stocking stuffer for this age group. My kids love this pipes bath toy from Boon. It’s provided hours of fun in the tub – plus it’s good for ages 12 months and up.
We recently purchased these Bath Color Fizzies to make bath time lots of fun – and I’ve been really impressed. They come with a big variety of colors, but don’t stain your tub. These would make a great stocking stuffer!
MAPIXO Light-Up Floating Dinosaur Bath Toys Set 6 Pack
MAPIXO Light-Up Floating Dinosaur Bath Toys Set
Glow stick baths can be fun, but if you’re looking for a reusable option, check out these light-up floating dinosaur bath toys. These dinos light up as soon as they hit the water, and turn off automatically as they dry out. We’ve had this set for over a year, and they’re still working great!
Bath toys are usually my go-to for stocking stuffers, and this magnetic fishing bath toy is great for babies and toddlers. And honestly, both of my kids enjoy playing with this toy.
Teething toys are a great stocking stuffer for babies. The most used teething toy in our house was this set of Teether Tubes. They are durable, easy to clean, and helped my baby a lot when she was teething. And they’re the perfect size to put in a stocking.
My daughter loves wearing bracelets from her toy sets, but most dress-up bracelet sets aren’t safe for kids under age 3. That’s why I like these silicone teething bracelets for her stocking – that way she can still play “dress up”, but I don’t have to worry when she chews on her bracelets.
Fisher-Price Little People Farmer & Animals Figure Pack
Fisher-Price Little People Farmer & Animals Figure Pack
For the littlest ones, you can’t go wrong with a pack of Little People figures from Fisher-Price. There are so many to chose from, and this is something your child will play with for years to come.
Another cute little figurine option are these miniature plush figures from Disney. Our daughter loves the movie Lilo & Stitch, so my husband grabbed these for her stocking.
These small LEGO DUPLO sets are a fun addition to any stocking for a toddler or preschooler. These sets are inexpensive and typically include pieces you don’t find in the larger sets.
For the bigger kids, these LEGO Creator 3 in 1 sets are great because they are usually pretty small, but allow your kid to make 3 different creations with the pieces. We own several sets.
Our son already has a gazillion Pokemon cards, so what’s 50 more? He loves them, and he’s always excited to get new cards. Plus, they will fit perfectly in his stocking.
Colorful Fun Animal Reusable Silicone Drinking Straws for Kids
Colorful Fun Animal Reusable Silicone Drinking Straws for Kids
Stocking stuffers for kids at this age don’t need to be crazy or expensive. Every day items that are a little bit special make great gifts. These reusable silicone straws are colorful and feature cute animals – and conveniently fit easily into a stocking.
Yes, this is a Slinky, just like when we were kids. Yes, it’s still a lot of fun. And yes, you will have to untangle it at least 3 times on Christmas morning – but it’s worth it.
The one thing my kiddo is always grabbing off of my desk are my sticky notes! So this year my 6 year old is getting his own set of sticky notes in his stocking. There are oodles of fun sets out there – but I liked this set for our kitty-loving little guy.
Mini notebooks were such a hit as our son’s birthday treat for his kindergarten class that I plan to pick up a few more to put in his stocking. These notepads are 3x5in and are the perfect size to fit in any stocking.
Rounding out our list of stocking stuffers is another every day item, but fun. This flashlight from Melissa & Doug looks like a colorful lightning bug and is durable enough to survive being dropped repeatedly from a toddler bed. My son loved this flashlight as a toddler, and we got the pink one this year for our daughter.
Thank you for checking out my gift guide for stocking stuffers for little kids ages 0 to 7. I hope you are able to find the perfect gift for your little one’s stockings.

FURTALK Sun Straw Hat
A Sun Hat
This year I decided to upgrade from the baseball hat I never remembered to grab to an actual sun hat. I really like this one because it is UPF 50 and has a wide brim to fully shade my face from the sun. I’ve found that it’s durable and stays on my head.
Another pool day item I upgrade this year was my swimsuit cover up. Gone are the old t-shirt and ratty shorts from high school. And in their place is this lovely, breezy, button-down swimsuit cover up shirt. It comes in a huge selection of colors and runs true to size (although size up if you’re expecting this summer).
There are tons of options for a great pool (or beach bag) out there. I like how this one is a good size and has tons of pockets – including a built-in wet compartment for your swimsuits.
I opted to use a multipurpose utility bag for our pool bag this year. It holds several oversized towels, our lunch bag, change of clothes, and puddle jumper. It’s so nice to have everything fit in one bag.
Because our son is still working on his swimming skills, we opted a flotation device while swimming at the community pool. As always, you should make the best decision for your family based on your needs. This is what we used for our son when he was a toddler.
This is the flotation device we used at the pool after my oldest outgrew the life vest. Again, please make the best decision for your family when purchasing.
I had a difficult time finding mineral sunscreen to use on my kids that I wasn’t allergic to. But this is the second summer we are using this brand, and we’ve been very happy with it so far!
The best summer parenting hack by far is using these blending brushes to put on sunscreen. I purchased a brush from a friend, and liked it so much I bought a whole pack to keep one handy at all times.
Baby girl isn’t here quite yet, but she’s ready for a day at the pool with this adorable sun hat. I like that it provides sun protection and comes in a huge variety of colors.
