There are several playgrounds around Cincinnati with at least partial shade to help keep you cool during the summer months. Not all of them have total coverage, but the playgrounds in this list have enough shade for kids to be able to play without being directly in the sun the entire time. Reopened in May 2022, Gorman Park in Sharonville is a great spot for summer fun with a new playground, a splash pad, picnic shelter, and more.

This newer playground in Deerfield Township is a great spot for crawlers and bigger kids. This playground has artificial turf, but it’s also somewhat shaded by the large oak trees throughout the park. Schappacher Park also has a dog run park for your furry kids.

Blue Ash Nature Park is a great choice if you’re looking for some pretty scenery, easy walking trails, and a variety of playgrounds. Located behind the Blue Ash Recreation Center, this park has 5 playgrounds, 6 picnic shelters, 2 restrooms, an amphitheater, and both paved and gravel walking paths. It’s a great spot to take the kids to play or go on a walk with the dog – or both!
